Luke 21:1-4

Jesus contrasts what seems an insignificant offering of the poor widow with the abundant offering of the wealthy. He does so in a way that offers a possibility for those who really listen to think about giving in a new way. Though the widow’s tithe is small, her generosity is great.  She gives all she has, trusting completely in God’s providence.

I find myself fearful and insecure when thinking about the future. I want to let go of these feelings and follow the lead of the widow. I pray, Lord, to be a better steward and a more generous giver.
