St. Pius Food Pantry
Help organize and maintain St. Pius’s food pantry: sort weekly food collections from Sunday Liturgy, transport food to area pantries, stock a small amount of food at St. Pius for emergency food needs, pack and deliver food to families in need.  Work Mondays from 9:00 AM- 10:00 AM.  Be available occasionally to pack and deliver food for a family in need.

Soup and Sandwich Preparation
Prepare soup and sandwiches for the homeless in support of the Catholic Worker.  Soup and sandwiches are made each Wednesday afternoon.  The meal is taken downtown early Thursday morning.  Volunteers are welcome to assist in any one or all of these areas. Note: Food preparers are required to have a food handler’s card.

Calvin Food Pantry
Participate in collecting food for consolidation at Calvin Presbyterian Church. The Calvin Food Pantry is supported by several area churches to distribute food to the local community.
Work in the food pantry one Friday per month from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

Empower Hampton Roads (EHR).  Participate in a group that represents our parish in support of this faith-based community-organizing project.  The purpose of EHR is two-fold:  to strengthen our parish and to work with other congregations to create a large organization to effect positive change in the community, especially on issues which impact low-income people.
