Sponsors:  According to Canon 874 to be a sponsor, 
a person must be:
	...at least sixteen years of age
	...Catholic and has been confirmed and has received the	     	   blessed Eucharist
	...a person who lives a life of faith which benefits that of a 	   sponsor   
	...a person who does not labor under a canonical penalty (for 	   example—has a valid marriage)
	...someone other than the father or mother of the person                    	   being baptized


Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults  (RCIA) Sponsor
Share faith with an adult who is preparing for full initiation into the Catholic faith. Sponsorship involves affirmation of your faith, introduction to parish life, and willingness to listen and talk with candidates during their faith journey. 

RCIA Team Member
Participate in various areas of the RCIA process.  Responsibilities vary but include welcoming adults inquiring about the Catholic Church, catechesis, supporting sponsors, assisting with liturgical rites, joining with others for scripture reflection, prayer and discussion.  Team members average 4-5 hours of ministry per month.  Summer team forms during July.  
	  
Adult Confirmation Sponsor
Listen and share faith with an adult member of the community preparing to celebrate Confirmation at the Easter Vigil.

Teen Confirmation Sponsor
Listen and share faith with an 11th or 12th grade student preparing to celebrate Confirmation.

Child’s Sponsor
Listen, share your Catholic faith, and provide support to youth 7 to 17 years old.
