Youth Ministry News:
As a direct response to the “We Walk By Faith” feedback by our parish, we will begin to actively plan for a consistent, solid youth ministry program with both our parish and Holy Trinity. Using the diocesan norms as well as national youth ministry programs, we will discern how best to establish a strong program of evangelization for our 9-12 grade parishioners.
As we continue to do this, we will be involving parents, teens, as well as both parish councils and finance councils. All parishioners are urged to please begin to pray for the future of youth ministry in our parishes, including how to best recruit and implement a program. We will keep both parishes updated and solicit input throughout the process.
As we plan for a comprehensive youth ministry program, we will put most youth ministry activities “on hold”. However, Fr. Dan is considering taking a couple of youth to the National Catholic Youth Convention in Columbus, Ohio, November 8-10th. It would be great to find one or two 10th or 11th graders who would be interested in attending with our Diocese. The cost would be about $300 for the registration, hotel, and bus ride to Columbus. We will go with a large group with the Diocese. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Fr. Dan immediately. We hope to take one or two from each of the two parishes. Over 25,000 Catholic high school students attend this great event with excellent music, engaging speakers, great prayer, and lots of new friends.
