Though St. Pius students make up the majority of the St. Pius teams, other local students may participate on the teams. Soccer is played in the Fall and again in the Spring. St. Pius X School has participated in the Johns Hopkins University Program for Talented Youth since 1991. Students with qualifying scores on local and subsequent national tests become eligible for nation-wide university programs designed for young high achievers.
At St. Pius X School, our local program feeds into the national program. Additionally, we offer a variety of extra-curricular activities to students in grades two through eight. The offerings vary based on grade level and the curricular and developmental needs of the students at each grade. Students’ records are annually reviewed for membership and qualified students are invited to participate. New students must provide previous standardized test scores for review to enter the program.
